The Bridge Project receives a Fairtrade Pledge Certificate
Anesta Newson, Ceo of the Bridge Project, received in January 2013 a Fairtrade pledge Certificate for using Fairtrade beverages and biscuits on the premises of their offices and serving them at the Bradbury Courtyard cafe.
The Bridge Project was setup in 1995 as a local charity to assist disadvantaged adults within the community. The project strives to work towards its vision, ‘a community within a community’, an inclusive place where everybody is treated fairly, with dignity and respect. Vocational training, continual education and employment opportunities are provided that are fully accessible in a safe supportive and welcoming environment for adults who face multiple disadvantage through their learning, physical and or ‘hidden’ disabilities.
Sudbury Fairtrade and The Hive
The Sudbury Fairtrade Committee is very grateful for the continuing support of multiple local community organisations, particularly within “HIVE” , the new group of organisations which helps sustain voluntary and community services in Sudbury and the surrounding villages.
Fairtrade Fashion Show in St Peter’s
Generally a success, plenty of clothes and accessories, about 120 people attended including a good number of young people. Plenty of help and good refreshments. Fairtrade wine donated by Waitrose was appreciated and Harry’s nuts. Thank you to all those who set up and dismantled the catwalk in St Peter’s.
Traidcraft stall did very well. Rose Loye spoke well about Fairtrade particularly related to the clothes and accessories.
